In the case of Kat Sweet, these things are numerous. Kat works with kids in the Cascade Bicycle Club’s Earn-A-Scraper program; teaches adult “girls” (and sometimes boys) how to huck just about anything in the freeride world; races with the Dirt Corps team; loves drum ‘n bass; and attends night school. One of her classes allowed her the opportunity to create a Tupac scraper bike with bling and quotes from the rapper.

When I started developing concepts for my June “Bike Culture” show, I definitely had to include Kat – and shoot her with the hot pink that’s omnipresent in her wardrobe.

This was the end result.

When I was working with Seattle-area model Alysia under Seattle’s soon-to-be-gone viaduct, I had the perfect opportunity to meld the vibrant urban landscape with Alysia’s brightly-colored wardrobe.

Time for Plan B. Cancel snow bus reservations. Get suggestions from hotel concierge. Decide on wine tour. And zip around the Queenstown-area wine country with a van full of Aussies, one Kiwi and me.

Snowboarding + bluebird skies + beer always tends to be a good combo, but it’s pretty much the entire deal when the Holy Oly Revival a.k.a A Celebration of Snowboarding Pride…and Bananas hits the Summit at Snoqualmie every spring – unless you count the Lib Tech bananas everywhere!
